Interviewed by dermatology PA Lisa Weiss, Dr. Cornejo says the single most important thing she hopes people take away is simple: "any isolated pink papule in an adult, I would biopsy it." It never hurts to sample an isolated pink spot on someone.
She has seen some unexpected things behind those lesions — metastatic melanoma in dermal nodules, and melanomas that can "look like rashes." As she puts it, it's "scary, but good to know."
